No Frill grocery store in Invermere nearing construction completion

Construction is nearing completion to Invermere's newest grocery store, Joe's No Frill. The No Frill's franchise is locally owned by Joe Uchman who comes to Invermere with a great deal of previous grocery store management experience with Loblaw stores like Extra Foods and other No Frills locations.

This will add to the grocery mix in Invermere which already has two longtime grocery stores, Valley Foods and Sobeys. The new grocery outlet is located on lands leased from the Shuswap band and is directly across from the Canadian Tire store, which opened several years ago.

It is projected that construction will be completed in a month or so, just in time the store's opening in May 2014.

The No Frills store has been busy recruiting employees including Meat/Deli managers, front-end manager, a bookkeeper, produce manager as well as part time cashiers and clerks.

No Frills is a chain of deep discount supermarkets in Canada, owned by Loblaw Companies Limited, a subsidiary of George Weston Limited.
