Spirit Rock is a new community-oriented indoor climbing gym located on the Platzl in Kimberley. The Spirit Rock Climbing Center is slated to open in the fall of 2013. The climbing wall project is being undertaken by a consortium led by Kimberley resident Jim Gray. The proponents of the project invite interested members of the public to, “Come by and watch as we transform a dirt lot into the most modern and exhilarating building in Kimberley.”

Spirit Rock will have 6,000 square feet of roped climbing reaching heights of 38 feet and a 16-foot-high “top out” bouldering area to keep you entertained for hours. The new facility is being built with all ages and abilities in mind.

“Spirit Rock is the place to bring family, friends and groups for a great time,” according to the gym's Facebook page. The new Spirit Rock climbing gym will one of the first and largest gyms dedicated solely to climbing in the Kootenay region.
