The Kimberley Chamber of Commerce has moved to a new location on 253 Wallinger Avenue, near the Platzl, in Kimberley's downtown area.

Kimberley resident Mike Guarnery was recently hired as the new manager of the Kimberley chamber.

The Kimberley chamber has a number of initiatives on the go, including supporting and working with the newly formed downtown business association.

This new organization was formed as a result of a recent meeting which looked at ways of revitalizing the Kimberley downtown business core in the Platzl.

The meeting, held at Centre 64, brought together nearly 100 business owners, city officials and concerned citizens in a discussion focused on forming a plan or strategy for Kimberley's downtown business core going forward.

Also on the chamber's agenda is supporting Kimberley's arts and culture community and its promotion of a series of First Saturday promotional events starting in May.

The Kimberley chamber currently has around 90 members and would like to see that number increase to a level of previous years which was around 140 to 150 members.
