Five Kootenay Rockies resorts appear on BC’s Biggest Destination Resorts list

In a recently published chart by Business in Vancouver newspaper five resorts in the Kootenays appeared on a list of the biggest destination resorts in B.C. -- ranked by the number of rooms.

The list consisted of 20 of the top destination resorts and a quarter were located in the Kootenay Rockies region.

Here is how the Kootenay resorts stacked up...

  • Panorama Mountain Village was #5 -- 810 rooms
  • Kicking Horse Resort - Golden was #11 -- 250 rooms
  • Three Valley Lake Chateau -- near Revelstoke was #14 -- 180 rooms
  • Fairmont Hot Springs Resort was #16 -- 144 rooms
  • St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino was #18 --125 rooms

Tourism Whistler was #1 on list with a combined number of rooms of 15,880.
