Fernie students won the APEGBC Prize Draws

Anja Kuijt and Anna Koltai won the recent won the APEGBC Prize Draw.

Kuijt received her award and prize—which was a microscope from Clark Weber, P.Eng—at her school recently. Koltai recieved an ASUS Transformer Android Tablet Computer.

Kujit entered the draw for ages 0 to 13 during the East Kootenay Regional Science Fair held at the College of the Rockies in Cranbrook, B.C. on February 22 and 23, 2012.

The microscope is capable of 600x magnification and can be connected to a computer to display the images.

The prize was provided by the East Kootenay branch of the Assocation of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC) is the licensing and regulatory body responsible for B.C.’s more than 26,000 engineers and geoscientists.

March is national engineering and geoscience month in Canada.
