RED Mountain Resort in B.C. is hosting the very first Beer Goggles Craft Beer Festival on March 1, 2014.

Hop to it, beer fans! On Mar. 1, 2014, RED Mountain Resort in B.C. is hosting the very first Beer Goggles Craft Beer Festival.

The goal? To intermingle the finest craft breweries, thirstiest beer enthusiasts, and hungriest powder fans at one of North America’s finest resorts for a weekend of fun and foam. Trust us: This is one "case study" you don’t want to miss.

From home-brewers to homies, Beer Goggles is set to become one of the largest festivals of its kind in eastern BC, a region known for its "big little beers." Confirmed breweries include stalwarts Nelson Brewing, Okanagan Spring, Tree, Steamworks, Mt. Begbie, Parallel 49, Stanley Park, Central City Brewing and other craft outfits from all over BC. We expect to showcase 13 breweries and approximately 52 different beers

"Beer Goggles is not simply a beer festival, but a celebration of the craft beer industry," explains RED Mountain’s Fran Richards, the man behind the mayhem. "All of the hardcore skiers and snowboarders ’round here know the simple pleasure of a fine brew after a day in the mountains, and we wanted to try and, um, bottle that feeling."
Beer Goggles kicks off with a brewer reception Feb. 28.  On Saturday evening March 1, RED will host the Salomon Gathering 6, our multimedia celebration of the history of Freeskiing.  This  year’s action-packed slideshow/video show will be curated by cinematographer Travis Robb and showcasing legendary ski lens men.

An afterparty with a live band at Rafters, recently voted the #1 Ski Town Bar by Powder Magazine,will-spell an end to the weekend’s action, but not the friendships formed over high-IBU IPAs. As for after-after-afterparties…well, let’s just say they’re not unheard of in the Kootenays.
The soon-to-be-legendary Brewers Cup Race goes down on Sunday, Mar. 2, but you’ll have to see that one in person to believe it.

So, if you want to join the Craftbrew Mob and (responsibly!) combine your love of pints and powder, beers and boards, this is the excuse you’ve been waiting for.
