Next time you’re driving along the Cranbrook strip, you might notice an exciting new development. Taupe Hair & Nail Studio has relocated to 1024 A Cranbrook Street North, next to Mr. Mike’s restaurant. The renovated space is stunning, thanks to the creative vision of owner and master stylist Heidi Thompson and her husband, Dave. Thompson has been in the salon industry for more than 12 years, and her love of esthetics is reflected in the warm, sophisticated ambience of the new location.

“I have created a very boutique-like atmosphere,” said Thompson, “but I hope to attract a broad clientele. We want our image to be that of a classy yet intimate and relaxed alternative to some of the larger salons.”

In addition to hair services, the revamped salon offers a variety of other options, including gel nail manicures by Amber Mitchell, makeup and spray tanning by Jacquie Nightingale, and other esthetics services such as waxing, tinting, skin- care analysis and more. In the future, the studio will also have massage treatments among its offerings.

When asked what she loves most about her career, Thompson had no trouble finding a response.

“Hands down, the people,” she said. “I have made some incredible connections through my clients and have been fortunate to forge some lasting friendships and business relationships with many of them. When you live and work in a smaller centre, word of mouth becomes your greatest asset, and so I take my client relationships incredibly seriously and personally. They are my livelihood.”

Visit Taupe Hair & Nail Studio online, email [email protected] or call 250-426-0207 to book an appointment.
