Known as the powder snow capital of Canada, Revelstoke has an annual snowfall of 12 to 18 metres. This, of course, attracts winter sports and leisure fans in droves. The mild winter temperatures and several facilities that offer everything a snow-lover could possibly desire make for a winning combination.

The skiing in Revelstoke is legendary—with cross-country, heli-skiing, Nordic and downhill skiing venues to choose from. Revelstoke Mountain Resort has the longest lift-accessed vertical hill in North America, and is a surefire choice for an active winter holiday.

Snowmobiling is another passion for Revelstoke residents. With a few companies offering direct mountain access, gear rentals and backcountry guiding, even novice sledders can tour the local trails. Hiking, snowboarding and snowshoeing are also popular.

Revelstoke hosts the annual Winterlude festival throughout the month of February, an event that brings together people of all ages.
