A new company—Austin Engineering Ltd.—opened its doors in Trail in October, with owners Roger and Mary Austin at the helm. As principal engineer, Roger heads up the team of professionals who specialize in civil and structural engineering and offer project management services. “We’ve been phenomenally busy,” said Mary. “We just completed 54 jobs in the first 100 days.” Projects are wide ranging in scope and size, from penstock inspections and dam safety services to designing seniors housing and residential decks. Their portfolio of projects even includes structural work for a diamond mine in Yellowknife.
