Operated by the Revelstoke Heritage Railway Society, the Revelstoke Railway Museum interprets the history of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Roberto Rodriguez, the executive director of the museum, said the society was formed 20 years ago. Each year, Revelstoke holds a community festival called Railway Days; the dates this summer are August 15 to 24. To honour the Chinese workers on the railway, this year’s theme is Chinese Legacies.
“If it were not for the Chinese people, the railway would not have been completed,” said Rodriguez. “All of the other museums do special programs and events; there is a parade and an official opening with the Chinese Council General.”
