Boundary Country Meatworks is a versatile abattoir that is owned and operated by the Grand Forks and Boundary Regional Agricultural Society (GFBRAS).

The new facility is equipped to process local poultry, pork, sheep, goats and cattle (under 30 months of age).

The abattoir is located two kilometres east of Grand Forks, off Highway 3, providing easy access for its users. It can be self-powered with its own diesel generator, and incorporates a walk-in cooler (for chilling and hanging meat), a multi-corral system for red meat and an on-demand water heater that brings the temperature to sterilization point.

The staff there can also custom-label poultry with their digital labelling system and vacuum packer. They are currently working on obtaining a licence to cut and wrap poultry on site. All animals are government inspected allowing farm gate sales, as well as sales to stores and restaurants. Boundary Country Meatworks is licensed by the Ministry of Agriculture as a Class B slaughter establishment (license no. 56).
