Fernie Distillers, owned by the husband-and-wife team of Andrew Hayden and Jillian Rutherford, officially opened for business in Fernie on Canada Day 2018. It is the first distillery to open shop in Fernie. The owners are grateful for the enthusiastic support they have received from the community, and proud and happy to share their first production run of locally produced, small-batch vodka. Visitors to the tasting room can sample the products and learn about the distilling process. Fernie Distillers’ recent press release stated that the company’s small-batch craft spirits capture and celebrate the historical spirit of Fernie.
