YPC Fitness sets the bar high, providing a high quality workout space and much more

by

Officially open for business as of January 12, YPC Fitness in Invermere is already setting a high standard. The family-friendly gym has modern equipment, competitive prices and a comfortable atmosphere. A kids room is available with books, movies and a Playstation 2, and the facility is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Owner Darryl Stettler also owns Your Private Connection, a local business that covers everything from janitorial to moving services. He has tremendous hope for the future of his new gym, and aims to make it a place where everyone can make themselves at home.

"We want everyone to feel comfortable," said Stettler, "and more than welcome to come and experience real modern fitness in luxury—like as if you were in the big city but in the wonderful valley of Invermere."

A place to get together

The gym is handicapped accessible, and all the equipment is modern and state-of-the-art—with features that include built-in speakers, iPod compatibility, fans and touch-screen technology. Demand has been so high that even more new cardio equipment is going to be brought in. Stettler hopes to host classes for Zumba, yoga and aerobics in the future. It's no surprise that YPC has become a popular place in town.

"It's the people's bat cave, to meet, train, socialize, get in shape and a place to have fun any time of the day," said Stettler. "We also have a clothing line that we have been working on for the last 2 1/2 years. Real hard work and a lot of thought and time has been put into this fitness centre to make it as comfortable and convenient as possible."

Set up for success

YPC Fitness also has a fully furnished and newly renovated one-bedroom vacation rental apartment upstairs. The apartment has Wi-Fi, satellite TV, leather furniture and other quality amenities. It all contributes to the shining reputation that Stettler has built for himself as an Invermere businessman.

"YPC has been known for the last nine years as a maintenance business, but now as a fitness centre as well," said Stettler. "Also all our existing clients will receive one-month free memberships, (to show) our appreciation. It pays to have YPC on your team. A special thanks to the YPC staff and friends, my wife Erin and father Hans . . . and everyone else who has helped along the way."

The fitness centre is located at 320 Borden Street, and can be reached by calling 250-688-6108 or emailing [email protected]
