The Riverfront Centre Building Committee recently revealed the drawings for the proposed new integrated Library and Museum during Trail's Silver City Days festival.

The drawings, which highlight the exterior and interior architectural design of the facility, were displayed on easels inside the main entrance of the Trail Memorial Centre (TMC) during the community celebration.

“The design process has been very collaborative and responsive to Trail’s cultural heritage and community pride while celebrating its industrial roots,” says Sam Collins of MMM Group Limited (WSP/MMM), the Riverfront Centre’s Project Manager. “The vision of this welcoming landmark facility takes a multigenerational approach to how the Library and Museum will provide a community living room that nurtures learning and gathering in a vibrant and safe civic heart of downtown Trail.”

The Riverfront Centre Building Committee and WSP/MMM have been working with Stantec Architecture Ltd. on the designs since February 2016 and they were thrilled to release them to the public during Trail's recent Silver City Days.

“The Committee is very excited about the new design for the facility,” says Riverfront Centre Building Committee Chair, Councillor Robert Cacchioni. “We are very proud of how our City’s learning tools, history and future are portrayed within this new design and we encourage everyone to stop by the TMC to have a look.”

The drawings have now moved to Trail City Hall where the public is welcome to view them Monday to Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm.
