Downtown Invermere has a major re-construction project underway.

Downtown Invermere is a bit of a construction zone these days with a major re-construction project underway. What is commonly referred to as the Cenotaph Plaza which is located in the heart of downtown Invermere is currently undergoing a complete redesign, renovation and rebuilding.

The District of Invermere has slated a budget of $50,000 for the project, which is designed to enhance the area and give the downtown better access.

The project will include replacing the existing trees, flag poles, park benches, curb, repairing the cenotaph and fixing the infrastructure of the adjacent streets.

The project, which part of Invermere's continuing downtown upgrades, is slated to be completed in large part by the end of 2014. In the mean time watch for construction equipment and crews busy on the project.
