College of the Rockies’ Kimberley campus is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, May 16 from 4 pm to 6 pm.  The event will be held at the Kimberley campus at 1850 Warren Avenue (former Blarchmont Elementary School).

The event is a chance for anyone who is interested in learning more about what the College offers, including programming at the Kimberley campus, and provides an opportunity for campus staff to meet and engage with the public they serve.

Information available will include programs held at the Kimberley campus such as the Fire Services Training certificate program and a wide variety of Continuing Education options.  Details of additional College programs and services will also be provided including ACE-IT and Dual Credit opportunities for current high school students, three degree options available through the Cranbrook campus, and Education Advising services for potential students who are not sure where to start on their educational journey.  Information about how to finance your education will also be available.

Learning more about the dual admission agreements the College has with University of Lethbridge and University of Victoria will be of particular interest to those looking to move away to complete a university degree. These agreements provide a way to complete your degree at either ULethbridge or UVic but to stay local for the first two years, saving a significant amount of money on tuition and living costs.

“The College has so many options available for residents of the East Kootenays,” says Recruitment Officer, Jennifer Inglis. “This Open House is a way for us to share with the residents of Kimberley what all is available to them through the College, and for us to hear from the community as well.”

Kimberley campus manager, Jeff Cooper, agrees, “The College is proud to be part of Kimberley and the Open House is an excellent way to get to know our community better and to find out how we can better serve those who live here.”

For more information about the May 16 Open House, contact the Kimberley campus at 250-427-7116 extension 3752 or email [email protected].
