Canada’s largest bakery franchise, COBS Bread, is scheduled to open on Cranbrook Street in the spring of 2019. Renovations to the previous Quiznos location at the corner of Victoria Ave and Cranbrook Street are now underway.

The franchise bakery will be owned and operated by local ownership.

In addition to baking fresh bread and treats all day every day, owners of all COBS Bread bakeries are actively involved in their local communities through the End of Day Giving program, which is a cornerstone of the COBS Bread brand.

All unsold product at the end of the day is donated to local charities based on a pick-up schedule and coordinated between the charity or community group and the bakery.

COBS Bread is well-known for its range of traditional and artisan breads, as well as sweet and savoury treats such as scones, croissants and anishes.

Kootenay Business will update this information when it is determined who is the local owner of the new Cobs Bread bakery.

About COBS Bread:

At every one of COBS Bread’s 111 locations across Canada are hand-crafted bread and the freshest treats, baked every day. Offering traditional sandwich breads, artisanal loaves and smart indulgences, COBS Bread focuses on helping you bring high quality, healthy and delicious baked goods into your home. At the end of the day, all leftover product is donated to local charities.

COBS Bread is part of Bakers Delight Holdings Ltd, established in 1980 and operating as Bakers Delight in Australia and New Zealand and COBS Bread in Canada and the United States. Together they have grown to become the world’s most successful bakery franchise with more than 700 bakery locations worldwide with plans to grow to 250 locations in Canada in the next five years.
